Anyone else not been out much?

Just a quick one really. Given the dodgy weather of late, I've kind of lost interest a bit in the Indy. Even when it does clear up for a few hours, I just can't seem to gather the energy to get the old girl out and go for a blast. Anyone else having this problem? It's beginning to look like I won't be out much more than a dozen times this year.

I know the feeling...

I have been out in it, but I seem to spend all of my time looking at the skies for rain and not wanting to go far just in case!

In all honesty I am missing the build... Seriously considering selling her and starting another one........

That might be it. I've now fixed nearly all the little fiddly things the previous owners couldn't be bothered with and that has always been part of the fun.

I'm re-building the engine at the mo but just before this my tintop developed an electrical fault. I was without it for 3 weeks and had to drive the kit car everyday to work so about 40 miles. I loved it though at its worst I had to bail water out of the rain cover every hour while it was sat in the car park!

GET TO A TRACK!!!!

You know it makes sense. Did a half day at Brunters this weekend - always restores the desire... if you know what I mean!

I have been using mine nearly every day for the last couple of months,I have a nice 15mile trip to work which involves some country lanes.Unless its piddling down when I leave,I chance it and hope for the best for the journey home the following morning.Managed to clock up a couple of K miles know. The way I try to look at it is I built it to drive it ,not clean and look at it.

I'm lucky if I manage once every couple of weeks - I'm dying to do a trackday, but all the ones fairly close seem to clash with summer hols!

Si, Once I'm back on the road, I'll collect Mr Jud and we'll blast up and give you some prodding.

Just remember your skins waterproof and everything else will dry out, so don't fret about the rain.

If I don't take SWMBO out in the car often enough, I get nagged!

Went out Sunday morning - VERY windy over the Orwell Bridge! (If you haven't seen it - it's an impressive and very high bridge on the A14 to the east of Ipswich...).

Felt like my head was going to get blown off sideways...

If nothing else it would be good to see you guys again. It's been a good while. It's not me getting wet so much that I worry about, although seeing out of my lid is a bit of a bugger, it's more the wheel spin and side slip I get at anything much over 50mph!!

I would love to track mine, but I'm getting to the point where it's starting to overheat a wee bit on the road! Although a new grill should sort that one out. The main thing keeping me off a track is the bird engine I have. They don't like much sideways stuff or heavy cornering, and given that I've only just replaced it, I can't afford to do it again so soon!

Let me know when...

BTW: Faster Rack = way to go. Mega on track now, just need to see what it is like on the road.

Right, I've now gotten up the energy to sort out a few minor issues. My lights and indicators now work again! So, Martin or Dan, when ever you want to meet up is good for me now!
Just glad to have my mojo back, although the car is now definitely over heating at pace!

I've been out for my first drive today, even if it was only up and down the street.

Massive flat spot then i floor the throttle!!

Looks like a lot of mapping to come, I might try some smaller injectors as mine are rated at 325cc/min.
