Tyres again...
being a tight ar€e and on redundancy watch I want soem great tyres for no money.
Anyone know what Toyo Proxes PX4E are like against T1R's or 888's. (cant afford 888's btw)
What's the difference between T1R's and T1s's please??
Any recommendations from this lot??
TYRES!

If I were you I'd look for some Yokohama A539s. I used to get them for about £33 a corner in 195/50/15 and they were much more progressive on
break-away than the Toyo T1-S. The T1-R is the replacement but I'm afraid that I have no direct experience of these.
Edit to say that the Parada Spec 2s may well be the A539 replacement. I don't think they make them anymore (?).

I wouldnt go with T1R's or S's on mine iether from personal reccomendations but would rather got for the 539's like ^^^^ suggested
instead
The 539's are okay but theyre no way even close to 888's / A032's

A539s work well for me on the Indy, but as above they don't make them anymore. Not sure what the direct replacement is - might be the Prada...?

I was recently loking for tyres and heard "they don't make 539s any more" but they are still listed on Yokohama's UK site
here and I got a pair from my local dealer/fitter for £47 each 185/60
R14s. This was as good aprice as I could find online.

T1's are harder compound than T1 r but the same tread pattern, they didn't last long at all on the fiesta, now got px4's on the
front, seem to grip well and look like there wearing much better too.

A539s are definitely a road tyre.
I've had then on my Golf for the thick end of 18 months now and they're quite good, but wouldn't come within several light years of
AO32Rs or R888s.

Hi the replacement tyre for the Yoko A539 is the new C drive.
The Stock hatch championship in the 750mc swapped from the A539 to the new C drive. And apparently many of the drivers are not impressed by it
compared to the A539.
As for the 888 v A032R. Why would you even consider the A032R when the O48 is far better in all conditions. And available with extra cutting as a wett
tyre also. In which case the 048 would get my vote.
Cheers Matt
