Hi Stuart

I can't understand why this is happening as our race cars haven't had this problem at all and they get pushed pretty hard over ripple strips etc and the guards are well down over the sidewalls.

By the look of the failed one it looks like there may be side load from the tyre bending the bracket and/or guard. Have a good look at where the tyre is sitting in the guard and see if there may be a clearance issue under heavy cornering. What size tyres are you running?

Cheers
Greg

My car has sierra uprights and the wing stays to suit and never had a problem.

As road warrior has said your tyre may be making contact with the wings?

Wing stays are not contacting any thing under any condition. It is just the vibration of the wings moving from side to side has fatigued the metal.

I have now cured this by using 4mm thick metal and having a solid strip rather than the two loops.

The one I modified doesn't hardly move now but on a run out yesterday the drivers side wing stay snapped so I now have to mod this one in the same way. Rescued attachment P1010168.JPG

yep, mine snapped several times, i just about crashed twice as the wing slid under the front wheel and locked it up (very scary) so now i dont run them at all, i get an odd stone off the fore head but nothing serious lol

I've been having the same problem since day one. first it was the screws falling out of the wings and now I've just snapped my second pair of brackets! I'm taking a drive upto see Chris and Marc tomorrow to see if there is a solution? I dont really have the confidence for long journeys at the moment and I'll give it one last crack then may consider selling car on and going back to two wheels. Thats how much it's cheesed me off!

Second time it happened I locked up and nearly hit a ferrari F430....CHEAP!!!
