Bedford Noise Limit

I have a mate with a Duratec engined Tiger who is umming and aahing about booking Bedford on the 22nd November because of the noise limit (101dB static, 87.5dB drive-by)

Has anyone taken a 7 type car there and how did you get on as far as noise was concerned ?

I'm taking my RS4 which is only 90dB static

It'll be very close. A couple of caterhams got black flagged last Dec while I was there, and they didn't sound noisy to me.

The big problem there now is that you don't get a second chance like you used to - one black flag for noise and that's it - you're off for the day.

Bit harsh if you've paid £150+ for the day and you only get three laps, but as the palmersport website says, they've managed to get all their caterhams, formula palmer audis, porsches, and JP1 cars under the limit, so everyone else should be able to do the same.

Still, I'd invest in a decent noise meter first. The static is usually ok there, but it's the drive-by meters that always seem to pick people up.
Good track - I liked it. Dead flat, but 4.2 miles long and absolutely nothing to hit for miles.

Tom
