A quick question. My 4age is producing a raspness when reving around 4k and a kind of rattle when dropping the revs. Its definatly coming out of the exhaust but i dont know if its the engine or exhaust. If i repack the exhaust will this go or not? What produces a rasp noise? The other bit of info for you is i think it started happening more after a track day when i ragging the granny out of it. Oil quality and level is good.

Probably blown some/most/all of the silencer wadding out during the track day. Rattle may be a lose baffle which can move around without the wadding.

The wadding can 'burn' away, then the fine gauze which is supposed to stop the wadding getting blown out rattles around.

My R1 (Bike) does it at the end of the summer, after after being ragged everywhere it goes, I just put the standard can back on while I get the can rebuilt from last year, and its fine.

Ill try re waddin it my self.

This should make it have a cleaner crisper note shouldnt it?
