I am using a curly cable from my steering wheel to dash like rally/touring cars anyone know what the legalities are at mot time with this?

MOT shouldnt care unless its clearly hazardous or doesnt work

There is plenty of slack and wraps around the boss I have tried it lots and no probs as yet it connects to the dash by a q/r plug so hopefully will be ok.

Should be fine so long as it can't catch up and limit steering movement. i.e. as ReMan says.

Mine passed IVA with a curly cable from the steering wheel to the dash, so it must be OK.
