Hi, what tipe of inligne vent valve do i need on my fule tank? Looking on evay tgere are lots around 5 or a mocall one thats 45. So is there any difrence? and witch one do you fit?
its not just a breather/vent. its a roll over valve which vents air out but wont let out fuel if you roll it! i got mine from merlin motorsport
I got mine from Thinkautomotive.
However, I reckon (in hindsight) drilling a hole in the neck and welding a spigot in would be better asnd would help filling the tank.
Hi
A bit late I know
We fitted a one way valve & filter to our R1 Indy (carbs) see photo archive. about £4 each on ebay
Sales blog :
non return valves are recommended to be fitted in the fuel tank overflow pipe, to prevent fuel siphoning out when the car is at an angle. These are
obtainable for around £20, and will be compulsory for 2010."
Testing has proven this compact unit to be very reliable, stopping fuel from escaping, yet allowing sufficient air back into the tank whilst running
under normal conditions.
Simply add this unit to the breather exit on the fuel tank with the indicator arrow pointing in the direction of the tank.
It is reccomended to fit an additional length of fuel line on the other side of the valve to help prevent dirt from entering the valve, or
alternatively you may wish to use a small filter on the end.
The idea is to let air into the tank as the fuel runs down, & not to let fuel escape if you roll it.
Good luck

The Vauxhall Corsa is fitted with an electric vent valve. These are available cheap of eBay.
Wired it in with the fuel pump and it works a treat.
