Well, she's nearly ready for France. A few adjustments to the spec for touring are:
Roof
Half doors
Luggage rack
Larger wind deflectors
Anything I may have forgotten?

That actually looks quite good mate
You've forgot the missus, Marcus
AA cover
Is it not possible to get a space saver wheel in your bolt pattern. The wind screen looks real good.
I'm wondering if panelling in the area inside the roll bar with transparent material sorta like they do on some modern opentop cars, would reduce
the buffeting considerably?
Cheers

Cheers for the comments chaps.
The missus will fit in the left hand space behind the scuttle area - aka passenger seat.
Got European breakdown cover
I agree, spare wheel looks a bit mad. Considering not taking one.
Area inside roll bar will prob be filled with large holdall.
PS Screen is Caterham, uprights laser cut stainless to my design - took ages on CAD to get angle looking right, slightly more raked than some.

Looks great!
I can't help thinking that the air coming off the windscreen will very quickly tear away the roof from the fasteners, unless there is a lot of
reinforcement there.
The Westfield roof has a U channel over the top of the windscreen frame which means the fabric is sealed on the inside which prevents any tearing.
Lovin the rear rack though
I believe you also need to carry one fluorescent vest for each seat in the vehicle (new law).
And a full set of replacement bulbs and first aid kit.
fbi - roof has been tested to 85mph and stays on fine, this is how Caterham do it, so the studs were still on the frame. I do like the Dax method of
an Ali section the full width of the frame and over centre clips to the side of the frame. Problem with this is that I've put Ali section down
the sides of the hood to stop it flapping too much, with a piece across the front, I couldn't roll it up and stick it in the boot.
High viz jackets are at work - but I do have em.

The French are going to love it. As you can not get a car registered with external exhaust in France, 7's are very rare as they are all holiday
makers. I saw 1 Caterham last year and 2 other 7's last week, no idea what they were.
Have fun and bring me back some of their oval shaped pizzas from Super U....yummy!!
Beam deflectors?
real english teabags? peanut butter?
Hmm - Tetley are available in most supermarkets over there and I HATE bloody peanut butter.
Proper bacon may be an idea though

Dont forget your phrase book. If you come across any language barriers you can hand them the book so they can speak to you in English!!!
Recognise the wheels on this machine!! I have a set to go on my sylva.
I have a windsreen and full doors on the sylva and there is virtually no wind buffeting in the cabin space at all, just a little on the back of your
head. Thats with out the roof on!!
I like the rack!!
You can get some stuff that the bikers use to put into the tyres that spreads itself over the innner surface of the tyre and on contact with air will
plug any punctures quickly. Its about £40 for 4 tyres but better than being stuck at the road side!!
Its called puntureseal
Allan
Hi Allan,
Not for Le Mans I'm afraid. Been to France and come back in September. Went to Cannes, St Tropez, Monaco etc had a blast!
2500 miles in total - averaged 36 to the gallon! (fairly light right foot).
Wheels are Pug 405 - £130 from eBay, with new tyres, bargain.
Ended up taking spare wheel - If I didn't, I'd have needed it.

I went to france once. I wish i had brought a rifle to kill all the commie bastards!
