ive got one of paul's exhaust which has been great but now needs repacking.
been doing a bit of search, seen reference to a product in RS and talk of rockwool.
If cost were no issue what would be the best thing to put in?
What did Paul put in originally?
Cheers

I had one of 907s cans on my xflow I repacked it with wirewool and rockwool but if anything that made it louder than the stuff paul put in it.
Probably worth trying the proper stuff like wunoff etc use.
Cheers Stuart
Car Builders Solutions sells it.
Pat...
Don't use wire wool it'll disintegrate in no time. Powerspeed in Kent would sell you the pucker stuff.
cheers avoneer, i bought some from cbs
if anybody is interested at the moment theyre doing a deal for a 5" roll at 6 quid as it doesnt have the wire wool inner layer
Sounds like your sorted Mike.
For anyone else, they were packed with either f/glass, the solid slabs that brickies put
in cavities, not the puffed up stuff on a roll;
or,
Rock wool, again bought in slab form. Used to insulate steam pipes, industrial boilers etc.
Both are 2" thick and are cut into "polo's" with a pastry type cutter (or tin can would do) see pic.
26 orange or 20 of the brown in a standard can.
If you want something that lasts longer I believe it's called ceramic wool, technical term, "the white stuff".

give these guys a ring ,the packing is the only packing that has lasted more than a week in my exhaust.ask for the high temp stuff,,they supply the
stainless wire wool to go with it . i had anough for 2 small silencers and one huge one for track days and i think it cost £40
we use white stuff called "Kaowool" here at work as furnace insulation, good for 1400 deg C.
I are be using that
Phoned 'www.wunoff.co.uk' and orderd the packing. Phoned the next day to get extra stainless wire and there sending it completely free. MINT!!!!
