Intercom Compatibily?
Guinness - 23/4/07 at 06:07 PM

I bought this intercom from Maplin. £20 and it's OK, but getting the ear piece to stay in ya ear when putting your helmet on takes some practice!

Question is, is the Maplin jobbie going to be compatible with the ear pieces on this Oxford one?

Or does anyone else know of a cheap source for these mics/speakers?

Cheers

Once you have it in your ear cover with a strip of gaffer tape before putting your helmet on

I'd be interested in a solution, as I can't keep those earpieces in my lug-holes either...

Cut headphones off and solder decent in-ear headphones on the end

I think the Oxford one will more than likely be compatable but you may have to do some surgery to your helmet to make it comfortable. My Goldwing intercom was the best I have ever used - the ear pieces were wafer thin and fitted with Velcro to the nylon liner.

I wouldn't use inner ear jobbies in a helmet. They tend to isolate you too much from the real world and you need all your senses on the track!
