
How tight do they have to be there's no instructions with my new rods. Also is there any way i should tighten them up, i had heard of people tightening then up and then loosening them of two or three times, thanks Kev

Make sure they are OK for the rods, some are a fraction too long and when you tighten them they dont pull against the rod meaning the shells are too loose. Also never torque up a stretch bolt and then back off, they are use once then throw away items.
if they are arp then i think its 40 ft/lb done and undone 3 times using the enclosed lube, if they feel tight give them a good going over wiyh a green
scourer, it usually removes just enough of the finish. double check those figures with arp first though!!

Just fitted a set and the instructions enclosed were exactly as viatron says. Tighten and loosen three times to 40 ft/lbs. There were alternative instros which required measurements of length out of the packet and then stressed.
