Hi,
does anyone know of a company or person who is well recommended for rebuilding some Dellorto 45 carbs??
just got some and want them rebuilt before i fit them and go for a RR set up.
I haven't tried it myself and not sure i want to risk it.
thanks in advance
joe
Have a go yourself - its not difficult. Its mostly just cleaning bits & replacing o rings and gaskets.
I agree, a service pack from dellorto and a nice white cloth to work on. Its actually quite a nice job. Air line, some lockwire and a little brush are
helpful/nice to haves.
Very satisfying when it runs too.
Only one tip really and that is before any stripping takes place ensure the outside is immaculate in every way to ensure no self inflicted dirt
ingress.

ok, i will get myself a diagram and give it a bash.
is it all circlips etc?
Can recommend The Carburetor Exchange in Leighton Buzzard . Have had a few carbs reconditioned there and have always found them to be very helpful and prompt
thanks,
i will give them a tinkle just to see how much i am looking at.
I am hoping that i can ge tthe man who i want to RR set it up to rebuild them for me as he would have an idea of which jets etc.
cheers
Its worth doing the clean and inspection yourself. I did my bike carbs (arguable easier) and learnt a lot about how they work.
Take your time. Take pics as you go. Read the book. Service kits are available. Ref jets etc - RR operator will probs have to play around with them
during the set up so i wouldnt worry too much while you are cleaning them.
