Hi guys - I know generally a lot of you would say you would be better off building a haynes locost from scratch but I am interested in part build
robin hoods etc. to save on the spend.
Will a robin hood 2b still go through IVA or does the chassis or kit need any additional work / strengthening. I am particularly interested weather
the sliding pillar car will pass an iva as there is more of these part built than other variations.
I guess I am talking about the kit as supplied and build as per robin hood instructions rather than build quality as build quality would be down to
me.

There was a part built GBS Zero and a Haynes over on the FB kit car pages last week. Both looked good value at around £1K. Might be worth you keeping
an eye out over there?
The Robin Hood will pass IVA with the sliding pillock front end but it really is worth changing it to the later wishbone suspension. If you look on
RHOCAR there are 'how it was done' threads with pictures that explain. I was looking for a 2B+ as a project but happened on a badly built
Haynes which I took to pieces, mended and rebuilt and am really glad as I think I have a much better car.
As above there was a rolling chassis with bodywork, type 9 box and most body panels on one of the fb groups a few days ago that would have made a
very good starting point
I finished a part built 2B some years ago and retro fitted wishbone suspension.
My advice to you is DONT buy one!
It's a heavy, odly constructed chassis and unless you want a quirky handling slow car it's a poor choice!
For the same money or fractionally more, get a more conventional seven replica that already has a stiff lightweight chassis with wishbones!

think Id be asking myself why there are so many unfinished 2b's
I guess I am thinking if one was available with must parts very cheap it would be worth the time and effort to strip and re-build. I know it would take a higher level of work than a mechano type car. I would only consider one at less than £500.
