Saw this and I think it's a bit on expensive side, or is it just me that's a real tight arse? FORD, CROSSFLOW, 1700,(x flow, escort, kit car, dutton ) on eBay (end time 19-Jan-11 21:12:14 GMT)
Not sure it is.. It's expensive compared to say a zetec (but these are cheap, as ford made to many spares!), but as a re-manufactures bottom end,
looks from the photos like it's a proper job.. Thats if it goes for the starting bid!

There's quite a bit of work in that
- if you particularly wanted that engine and you wanted it to be as good as new then probably it's not such a bad deal.
IMHO of course.
think the locost race series have to use crossflows, so if its a proper job, its about right.
i bought a vauxhall engine for £150, and had it rebuilt with standard parts and no mods, parts cost £300, looks about right now doesn't it?
Could be worse, it could be this Ford RS 2000 Pinto Engine Sierra On Stock - 205 Block on eBay (end time 27-Jan-11 17:29:27 GMT)
Seems pretty good value to me! Crossflow is a sought after engine for a number of different reasons and there's a bit of work in that block.

[ebay]item number[/ebay]
couldn't be any easier now
Cheers, I tried something similar without the end brackets but oviously didn't work
I for one though think that's harder, usually I could click the link button and c & p the url, now I have to copy and paste the item number,
which takes longer for me as I can one-click highlight a URL, but not normal text strings, then I have to type [ebay] twice, unless I'm missing
the "ebay" button somewhere?!?
HMM, thats not an rs2000 engine at all, wrong block, wrong sump, wrong cam cover, so not much rs about it at all really.
as for the price of both engines its a shame we threw all those engines away years ago cause noone wanted them. personally gave away precrossflows,
crossflows and pintos in years gone by lol

It's a good price for a recon crossflow, the company doing them are Jem engines based in fife. Ive got one and the build quality was top notch.
Friendly to deal with too!
