Finally getting started
JSG89 - 22/12/15 at 09:23 AM

After 15 years in the planning and the last 4 years collecting parts in the corner of my workshop, the time has finally come. Over the christmas period I am taking welder to metal and building my Haynes Roadster at last!!

Main aim for the 5 days I have completely free is to get the frame put together and maybe even the engine roughly in place...

Hopefully..

My main question is what do/should I have been keeping for the IVA. Should I have kept receipts for all the parts I have bought over the last 4 years?

What photos should I be taking during the build process?

Thanks in advance

Josh

i cant help you on the iva side of things but i think you should be able to get the chassis done and engine in place if you have a full week on it

also ive just took photos of everything and will just put them in a big folder to take on iva day

Take plenty of pics as you go along and post them on here!

Then you'll have plenty to choose from come iva.

Good luck!

Kepp all your receipts they are proof along with the pics, that it is an amateur build.

tbh 5 days isn't probably enough if this is your first go to expect to have the frame built

Personally I'd concentrate on getting things as accurate as you can with many many checks on alignment and triple checking every part matches the drawings before you weld them in, it is much more satisfying to do a good job than a rush job.

Good luck
