Spotted this courtesy of TOL. Interesting variation on our usual theme, but it'd never pass IVA.

That is fugly
ooh, theres a new benchmark...
The back of the bonnet scoop is a bit brutal. The holes in the sides near the front wheels are a bit odd too.
Oh, come on guys!! He did all his own welding, including body panels to chassis (apparently).
Still wouldn't pass IVA, tho.
Wonder why he chose to use a leaf spring?

Is the man sitting in it a cricus midget or is it a really big car?
Transverse leaf spring at the front???? Depending on the rating can't see that being very compliant.
Can't even think what that was based on - anyone any ideas - back to front Triumph Spitfire?

I was more surprised that TOL is still running!
Cheers

Wouldnt do for us all to be the same eh!
How many switches does one car need? The transmission tunnel/dash looks like a hedgehog with the number of sticky-out bits.
The front suspension is interesting...look at the bottom wishbone, what's the engine mount looking thing? Giant bump stop? Some kind of airbag
suspension?
Lovely garden though
Wouldn't it be boring if we all liked the same stuff though.

Well at least it's finished, which is more than I can claim!
At least have the courtesy to know something about the project before flaming... Read below, there WERE outside influences.

Now, if you must, flame away

I was just about to post something along the lines of - it makes him happy, so good luck to him!
Lots of people on that forum telling him it looks lovely....mmmmmm.
He's a top metal basher though ...but just as easy to make a good looking panel as an ugly one i would have thought?
It is air bag suspension!
He's a guy not that far away from me (a few hundred kilometers) in Ontario. He's been working on it a while, and although it isn't my cup of tea, he likes it, and that's what counts. Ontario doesn't have IVA, and isn't that hard to pass an inspection. You just have to prove you haven't stolen your parts, essentially, and show some garage guy your brakes and lights work.
Nothing wrong with it for me... I'm sure he's very happy with it - and rightly so! Building a car - any car! - is a hell of an achievement
in itself!
Sure, it's not my cup of tea, but there are far more ugly'creations' that pop-up on this forum from time to time and folk gush over
them!
Some even get sold as kits!
