don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

From the site
quote:
I have designed a new crank sensor bracket for AJ16 engines which
effectively increases the ignition timing by 5degrees under all
conditions. I have fitted this bracket to both my manual XJR6 cars.
Last weekend I measured some in-gear vehicle acceleration timings
using a laptop PC to log the vehicle speed signal from the
diagnostic plug using scan tool software. Below are the results of
my measurements. In each case the first figure is the time in
seconds to do the 20mph increment running std ignition timing and
95RON fuel. The second time is running with the extra 5degrees
ignition advance and 99RON fuel. If anyone wants any more
inofrmation about my bracket, please feel free to email me
directly. I think the results speak for themselves in terms of
demonstrating the performance benefit of this modification. It also
improves fuel economy by nearly 2mpg (imperial) so saves money too.
The bracket only took a few minutes to fit to my engine and could
be used on naturally aspirated versions of AJ16 engines too, in
X300 or XJS.
Gear 5th 4th 3rd 2nd
Gearing 30.1 23 16.4 11.3 mph/1000rpm

Just make your own mod to move the sensor round the crank by 6 degs.

for a proper test - get him to do it again using just either 95 or 99 ron petrol!
If its using a crank sensor, its probably electronic ignition. If its electronic ignition there is a good chance (with it being an expensive engine)
that its got a decent knock sensor and will adjust the timing as needed automatically!

its as unscientific a test as he could possibly do, very unscrupulous, and im sure he knows its not scientific. The extra poke could be entirely from
the different fuel, and nothing to do with his bracket.
To be accurate, he should do 4 runs, with and without both (angle and fuel change), then he could categorically prove that his bracket maximises the
effect.

No way would i want to advance my ignition timing by 5 degrees over what Jaguar spent millions of pounds working out. Ask the guy for a picture of his
pistons in a year's time and then see if you fancy giving him £60. If he gave me £60 i wouldnt fit his bracket!!

As the car is designed to run on 95 ron then a bit more advance should help, but £60 for a bracket..... no way.
