Steering shaft

As an alternative (and cheaper) option
to a remote filter,i am thinking about
putting an extra uj in the indy's steering shaft.

Anyone goy any pics of the shaft done and what did you use for the support bearing. Also where did you source the parts. The joint on my rack is the rubber type and i am not sure it will take the extra angle without breaking so will need to fit a uj type.

I have seen uj's in the cbs brochure, will these fit the rack?As far as i can see the only problem is sourcing a bearing and could make the shaft in a couple of hours
with the correct parts.

Thanks guys,

Andy

rose joint/rod end type bearing will do the job. look up mcgill motorsport on ebay. cheap too, and more than up to the job you need. weld a plate with a hole in it to the chassis, screw the rod end into it and job done

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!
