Cam cover coating?
I've tarted up my engine so its bit blingy for the shows next year and am wondering what to do with the cam cover..
I quite like the crackle black finish the plastic zetecs have but can I replicate that on my ali one?
Any ideas?

How about plastikote chrome effect spray? Thats about as bling as you can get without spending loads!
Personally, I think a smooth hammerite spray in a colour that complements the rest of the car always looks best....

nonsense my little fluffy bunny.
stripping the paint off and then masking is the tedious part - you can do that indoors, on an evening when her is out at the hairdresser or
something.
you may want a practcie run at the crinkly finish, but that looks pretty good.
unfrotunately with painting, if you want good result, it is all in the prep - why do a half-assed job and not be happy with it since you'll
probalby redo it anyways....

Crackle finish powder coat - you give them a cruddy cam cover, they do all the hard work, and you pick up a nice finished cam cover two days later. My
last one was £35.
Cheers

dont know if you have the 1.8-2litre zetec, but if you like the look of the later black plastic one, why not just replace your ali one for the later
black top one as sure they are interchangable (ive got one on mine). might be just as cheep as well.
