Change to Braking system
Hi, I may be having stupid ideas here but wondered if:
is it possible to remove the Brake master cylinder/servo/vacuum hose from an old Fiesta CVH and replace with a nice new aftermarket small cylinder and
just run new pipes to all corners. Thereby removing the old system apart from the brakes?
Would i just blank off the engine end of the servo hose?
I know its an old kak 1986 car and not worth the hassle but if possible, it might be getting me thinking of making it a centre seated driving position
with new pedal box and just altering the route of the accelerator cable and steering linkage.
Doing this is cheaper than buying a shell and starting again and i like the front wheel drive.
Actually, going a step further is making me also ponder the idea of saving more weight on the front end with making a frame for front wishbones
etc.
Time for a change!

Your really want to downgrade a "Mission Critical" safety system?
I recon it will feel like you have no brakes at all however hard you press the pedal, unless you make some other changes to compensate.
Also your insurance company will not like it one bit. Assuming this is a road going car.

It's on an auto grass car with sod all weight.
The aftermarket brakes are better than manufacturers ones I guess or we'd never be allowed them on kit cars and 4x4s

In a lot of cases bling brakes are a downgrade compared to the performance of the original system brakes have to be engineered to suit the
vehicle.
As regard weight the standard shell ahead of the front wheels on older Fiesta hasn't much weight, if you take weight off the front
without taking a lot off the back you will be left without decent traction.
