If the 32/36 is running the standard auto choke make sure this is not staying on and continuing to enrich the mixture when the engine has warmed up.

How long has it been running rich for ?

Very wise, i should get round to that on my 38/38.

Its quite a rare thing to find a downdraft weber with no idle mixture adjustment. I'm aware of some that had the mixture screw recessed into the casing with an anti tamper plug. Can you post up any pictures of your carb.

If it doesn't have any external means of adjusting the mixture then the next stop is to check the sizes of jets that are fitted as you can always drop a setting.

It could be worth gettinbg hold of a colourtune plug, driving the car entirely on the primary throttle and then driving it harder with the secondary throttle open to see if it runs rich under both conditions. It may be you'd only have to lean up the mixture on the primary side.

I tnd to just upload the picture to my webspace and just copy and paste the URL of the image into the post.
Make sure the pic isn't too huge as it will dominate the whole screen

Another way is to upload them to your photo archive here on the forum : http://locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php . The picture can then be added as a thumbnail by copying and pasting the [pg ] code on the left of the uploaded image.

The mixture screw is there. Its at the base, on the same side of the linkages, in a hole. Hard to see from the outside as you have to use a small screw driver.
