Forte petrol/engine treatment
Don't laugh but my hairdresser recommended that I try Forte petrol/engine treatment in my kit (actually he was in the car trade for years before
he became a hairdresser and we always have an interesting chat about cars when I go for a cut).
Forte petrol treatment
He recons that its better than the Wynns, STP and Redex products that you can get in places like Halfrauds.
Before I get some, I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience of it

Yep use it all the time. Either that or the diesel treatment in every car we service. There other products are good too. Trouble is Forte don't
sell it other than to the trade, though it's available on-line or I can bring some to Stoneleigh.

can I ask, is the the stuff that when you take your car say to a vauxhall garage that they suggest you pay 30quid for, for them to clean the
injectors?
Is it good to do once a year?
cheers

Well if they're charging £30, they're charging more than 5x what they pay for it. I knock it out at £12. If customers question it I offer
money back if they don't notice an improvement (Forte back this up with replacement bottles).... Never given any money back yet!
The "Gas Treatment" Steve links to contains a range of additives to clean, injectors, inlet ports/valves, combustion chamber/rings,
exhaust valves, EGR valve, lambda sensor and cat'. Bottle in the tank once a year works but more often can't do any harm.
The Diesel Conditioner does similar though we often fill new fuel filters with it as a) it helps prime them, b)they run on nit neat for a few seconds
(Forte do a machine/tank to run it neat for a while but I think thats overkill)
The injector cleaners (petrol and diesel versions) are just that and have no post combustion effect but much stronger injector cleaning additive
content. I had a diesel escort when we were first stocking it, running very rough 1 and a bit cylinders. Forte in the filter, start up and you could
hear it pick up one cylinder at a time. Perfect after. All our local competitors are regularly replacing common rail injectors; I've done 3...
actually Forte is crap for business!

Thanks for the advice and for the offer of bringing some to Stoneleigh. I'm planning on going, but that might change if the weather is not
right, so its probably best if I just buy it on-line.
