Protecting the aluminium
Ive polished all my ally panels on my car( which is all of them), to a mirror like finish. Whats the best stuff to protect them from the elements?(and

Wait till they go dull then polish them again. Use some wax polish without abrasive to preserve them a bit longer.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I tryed painting some polished ali on a modle plane i used a two pack lacker but it did not stick
paints do not have a key to grab hold of on a polished surface so thay come off over time.
may be there is some sort of etching lacker thay eats in to the surface but this may spoil the finnish.
what i have seen that can look ok is carom paint. do not know what it looks like on large surfaces and it is not cheep.

this may be worth trying scuff the surface up with some wet and dry of a key do it so there is a even finish all over (may be triky on a large
surface). then put about a million cots of lacker on it and bring to a high polised finish never seen it done my look ok thow? probably look ok
i would try it on a scrap bit of ali first befor trying it on your car.

get out driving - get it covered in mud and crap - then you wont have to worry about ploshing it because it's all hidden and best of all YOU

Perfect Aluminium Protection
Por15 glisten laquer is the stuff you need - available in UK from Frost Auto restoration-
A glossy, rock hard, non porous, perfectly clear brilliant topcoat for all metal surfaces including highly polished aluminium and chrome. This two
part coating won't chip, peel or fade and dries without brush marks.

You could try BELGOM aluminium polsh, very smooth paste, easy to apply. Available from Cetem, or usually on Ebay.
If you're not using the car for some time, a squirt of WD40 helps keep corrosion at bay.
