Matching Black Satin Ceramic Exhaust Coating
Hi All
To cut a long story short:
I had my exhaust ceramc coated last year. To fit it, we (meaning Steve) found that it needed a flared 5" link pipe which Joe (Welderman) kindly
made. The issue is that the link pipe doesn't match the headers so needs to be coated in black. Camcoat who did the coating of the exhaust
want their miniumum order value of £30+P&P+VAT which seems excessive for 5" of pipe. Demon Thieves sell black satin ceramic coating at
£25+VAT so that isn't worthwhile either. It's purely costmetic, so I'd settle for any paint match that could cope with the heat.
Any ideas?
Finish is just a black satin:
TIA

Halfords high temp paint works well but needs proper curing in an oven to really be resilient, a 5inch bit should be ideal.

I would guess that anything you choose is going to discolor differently than the ceramic coat.. Personally I would not be to worried about it, can of
VHT black paint would be my approach, you can always strip it off latter and get it ceramic coated if you didn't like it?

^ agree, nothing else will look the same, and i think you'll always notice it and it'll annoy you, so i'd say (now i'm not
really sure what this bit looks like) but make a feature of it, and make is a contrasting colour, the car looks black, so silver, or electric blue, or
red? just a splash of colour like...
