BOV
I am about to supercharge my car again.
This time I am using a centrifugal supercharger blowing through the throttle body. I will use a recirc blow off valve I think.
I have been reading a bit about them but all the info I have found is re turbo applications.
As I understand it the BOV should be set up so seals at idle and over run, but blows off (ooh er Mrs) with vacuum and boost?
Is this ok so far?
My research then seems to show that if I am using MAP (which I will be) and or a recirc valve it can happily blow off at idle.
Any experience any one can share or advice?

The supercharger system on my VW Golf R32 is a VF centrifugal charger and uses a recirculation valve, it also uses a MAF. The valve recirculates when
the throttle is closed and the system is pressurised. At idle it wouldn't operate as there is no pressure in the system. It feeds back into the
intake above the MAF as the air has already been metered.
Well that's how I think it operates.

A supercharged R32, I bet that is nippy?!?
I will be reading this with interest, I am still undecided how best to run a SC. A BOV seems to be the best route, no recirc.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

It's not bad, it's low pressure and makes around 5.5psi. It made 317bhp on the rollers (estimated flywheel). She is still a big nose heavy
car but good fun and a great noise.
I'm really tempted to go the SC route once I get the car built and IVAd. Really like the progressive power delivery a SC gives.

With MAP based fueling it should make no difference whether you use bov or recirc.

I've used both a recirc valve (VAG 710N from the plenum to the inlet) and a valve which dumps to atmosphere. The recirc valve works but tends
to raise the inlet temperature.

Hi Jeff
My set up will be similar to yours.
Does your valve dump at idle?
