I'll take you up on that As I said earlier its what I do for a living to being able to tell between all types of formats helps.

ETA: As long as its a decent screen like a Grade one CRT

OK lets put some money on this!

Nah - couldn't. What you do for a living doesn't come into it. It's geometry, physics and biology. These resolution/viewing distance charts and what not are based on what the human eye can resolve. This hypothetical 10" screen 15' away, even showing only 480p has pixels 0.2 arcminutes big - way smaller than what any human can properly see. So you couldn't see all the detail of 480p footage, let alone 720p or 1080p. So I'd win the bet .

Scaling back up to the 32" screen at 9', you'd still have someone with 20:20 vision straining to see the difference between SD/480p and 720p. 1080p would be lost on them.
