pipe bender questions

im going to make a front section to my roll bar making it into a cage i know the bender i need and iv seen the vid how to bend it ,i just want to know the smallest thickness tube i can use so as to save weight / how to fix it to the car without putting holes in my chassis and any helpfull comments please
