Type 9 input shaft swop
Anyone know if the input shaft will come out the front of the box or whether it needs complete strip down.
Got it loose but cant get the input shaft bearing off forward to let the shaft out...
Am changing to longer V6 shaft to suit K-series with Caterham bellhousing
If not any advice on someone in Kent who will.

maybe you could just swap the whole box for one with a short input shaft
this guy was wanting a long one a wee while ago:

You have to take the box 80% apart to swap the input shaft.
Take the alloy tail off then the sandwich plate in order to push the bottom shaft backwards so the input shaft clears the gears going forward.
A right faff for what seems a simple job.

Which part of the shaft is longer, could you put a short bellhousing on and cut the shaft down ?

^^^ you can just fit a spacer between the box and bellhousing - there are a few old threads about this

I was going to admit it was me who wanted the longer one?! but im embarrassed now.....
My short one didn't even reach the sides, of the flywheel - it worked out easier and cheaper just to buy another box - I sold the old one...to
cover some of the cost.

Because the input shafts and gearing on the V6 box is different, it's not an easy swap.
You will be better off with the full V6 box

BGH mix and match the gear sets (with a bit of machining) to get what you want - BGH linky
and they'll build any of them with a long or short shaft
not cheap but for a little extrathe add some HD bearings and oiling mods to make the box much stronger 
they also sell the gear kits to fit yourself to keep the costs down

That would make the problem worse by taking the input shaft further away from where it needs to go 
I mated a 2.0l normal length input shaft type 9 box to a v6 using the v6 bellhousing and clutch release bearing sleeve by getting a spigot extender
machined up. Take out the spigot bearing in the end of the crank & pop the extender in with a spigot bearing in the end of it.
Same situation applies to you ie. normal length input shaft & longer caterham bellhousing. As long as you have room to fit it.
