Sticking Trim to Seats - best adhesive?
Hi All,
I haven't been on here for a while. I've not gone away though - the car is very almost finished now, just lots of little bits and bobs
to do.
One issue I have is that I have some GRP bucket seats and have put some edge trim around them. Trouble is I'm not quite as svelte as I was a
few years ago when I bought the seats I still fit, but when I get out of the seat, I tend to pull off some the trim.
I've tried sticking the trim down with super glue and with PU, but both don't seem to do the trick. Quite surprised about the PU as it
sticks to the GRP OK (and anything else for that matter), but not the trim.
Any ideas what other types of adhesive I could try?
Cheers,
Bill

evo-stic or spray glue but thats messy and you will have to mask all the seats using it

Thanks.
Which type of evo-stik do you mean? Like you say, the spray stuff would be very messy.

Bill

There's Unibond Repair Extreme.
Not cheap at c. £6.00at B&Q or £4.04 on Amazon for a small tube but sticks like sh*t to a blanket.
You probably only need a dob every few inches.
HTH.

Temperature stable contact adhesive is what you want - will stick pretty much anything to anything - B&Q do sell it, just have to ask as its a
glue and they keep it locked away. Or try woollies trim (google is your friend) and they will post you some. Don't cock about with anything
else.

Don't use the 3M spray stuff - it lets go when the car is left in direct sunlight and your trim falls off
Don't ask
