MOT Kit Car friendly
I am overdue for my first MOT and have now completed the necessary modification, new exhaust, new shocks, wipers and washers, now need to find a Kit
Car friendly or atleast a Kit Car aware MOT station in or around Chelmsford.
Any recommendations?

I take mine to Champion Motors in Maldon (West Station Yard) - they have always been helpful and sensible in their approach. Usually take mine on a
Saturday morning so they are not stressed.

I use my local Just MOT centre. They have no want to sell parts or carry out work and will carry out a fair test. They always let me walk around the
car and discuss things with them.
Just check that your main street MOT place has short ramps, I could not get an MOT form Mr Clutch for this reason!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Amethyst Autos at Laindon will be sensible 01268 413166 - mention my name & they'll probably throw you out!!!
Or talk to George Steve at Essex Kitcar club. I know they have someone who'll do a fair test.

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

It should be cheaper to MOT a kitcar, especially one like a seven. Its a doddle for them to check for faults.
I use my local mechanic, with no special requests from either of us.

kit cars are the easiest things in the world to get an mot on as there's so little to actually test! light check, steering wobble, brake test,
there you go have a certificate.
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.

I have always used Rawreth garage on the A1245 (old a130) in would you believe Rawreth. They have always been very helpful and reasonable with my
Kit.
