Number Plate Light - IVA Proof

Hi,
Waiting for my Avon Body to arrive and I have been told its best to fit the number plate light, before fixing body to the chassis, because of access afterwards.

I dont particularly like the standard CBS IVA/Trailer type Light, are there other IVA Proof lights available?

Ive seen some bolts which have a light in, but not sure if these are ok?

I failed my IVA (my only fail point) because of led bolts. The tester could not present his plate shaped tool against the body as they were in the way of where the plate would fit. Obviously they hold the plate on, but the tester also thought that they would affect reading the lettering

If you do use them, don't use them to fix the plate, but place them next to where it will be fitted and allow space for the plate.

Hope that makes sense?

another common failure is white light to the rear... make sure the light is shining towards the number plate location...

thx sj , think I understand, so if I fix the number plate as on a production car, and fit the led bolts above it for the illumination, that's ok.
Of course taking care not to show white light rearwards Dave.

Would two bolts do it?
No trouble with E mark on lens/bulb?

They don't need to be e marked, just provide an equivalent light output to a typical number plate lamp. Also consider their radius, which should be OK.

I bought mine off eBay, and thought they were badly made as the chrome was flaking off, and always thought they would have a short life. Plus, not sure of the point in fitting them next to the plate, as they should bolt the plate, which Mr IVA won't like!

So ended up fitting one of these...
