Type 9 dis-assembly problem
Trying to remove the main shaft from the intermediate housing.
Manual say to remove the circlip and then drive it out with a soft mallet.
Circlip has been removed and I have attacked it with various hitting implements but it has only moved 4 mm.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your welcome. Are you sure you have released everything needed to drop the main shaft such as dropping the lay gear which needs lowering before
removing the main shaft? I have possibly got an old Sierra manual which covers the gearbox, will have a look for you
