whats it called U clamp ?
Hi
I need a U clamp, that has a removable bar, that is threaded,at the upper part of the U
but no matter what i try and search for it does not appear

Exhaust clamp will get you started

Its not an exhaust clamp
i cant explain its use, !!
but for me it will be to drill a hole in a H beam with the U hanging down, and then the bar goes through the top of the U, and the hole, and then be
tightend up
i will then hang my engine hoist off the bottom of the U

Search for : "H beam clamp" under images in Google, there are lots of variants..

Just search for D shackle on eBay. Loads to choose from. I would sooner have a good used one than a shiney new Chinese one.

Plant hire shops sell them, last time I was in my local one they had a shackle rated at 50 tons for a tenner.
