Engine hoist
I'm after an engine hoist and engine stand.
Are the cheap ones on ebay any good? Unlikely to use much apart from the car build.
Prefer to collect so anyone know anywhere in Northamptonshire or surrounding counties that supply at reasonable cost.
Used is fine.
Thanks

I had a nu-tool hoist and Clarke stand, they were both fine but sold on as they really clutter up the place, I got really sick of dragging a heavy
hoist around.
Look for second hand ones on eBay, use and sell or hire would be my approach now.

Hi David
Haven’t posted on here for ages - but recently bought a hoist for an mx5 stripdown.
Bought a cheap £109 hoist off ebay (inc delivery!) made in China I guess.
Instructions to assemble were hopeless but product was fine - there isn’t really much there to go wrong.
Heavy gauge box metal , decent welding and fixings.
For general home use works perfectly.

I got a cheap one off eBay and it did the job fine, didn't notice any notable drop while engine was suspended for long period. Nothing to
complain about really and was just over 100 quid.

Thanks all.
Just bought a Clarke Strongarm off ebay. Collect tomorrow hopefully.
Then I can get engine back from work. Collected in my car, was loaded with hoist. No way was it coming out by hand. Had to take to work and use the
forklift to remove it.
