50p from B&Q - A big bolt and two nuts to limit the accelerator pedal travel.

However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Sorry - couldn't resist.
Don't Burton Power sell a decent one with a light etc, for around £80???

If you have a bosch dizzy you could fit a a rotor arm with mechanical limiter. My VW Camper has one that cuts at about 4000 rpm for the timid only but
there is one, Halfords part number HRA561, that cuts at 6750 which is handy for pinto engines with the bosch inductive ignition. I have an Omex
Clubman soft cut limiter from Rally Design. About £70.
