failed on hydrocarbons

Just to say thanks to all who answered my thread after the car failed MOT.
I borrowed a gunson colour tune and set the carbs which were a mile out.
I also went back to the garage and asked the tester to check the manuals to see if the car ,which has a 1972 engine, actualy needs to be tested with the annaliser.
It turned out it did'nt, just a visual smoke test.
So once again thanks guys, Locosters Know best..
PS, the car runs a lot nicer now with the carbs balanced, I can recomend colour tune

Colour Tune has been around for 30 years or more... and works very well. Not as good as a calibrated gas analyser, but still very good for what it is.

Remember that MoT men dont see that many Kit Cars, so may not be completely up on the regs for them.

This is the whole point of this site... loadsa knowlege.

Well done..

Glad to hear it worked. Although some people hate Colortune (30 year old technology and all that) I found them actually quite useful!!! Meant I could stop checking out the Krypton exhaust analysers on Ebay!!!
Each to their own....
