do you think i should put wipers on or not ? is there anyone running a screen without wipers ?

EDIT

If you're gonna fit an air brake, you would be wise to fit wipers too.

PS - It will still be cold and noisy, possibly even more so. You'll then want doors and a fly screen to reduce buffetting.

Phil

Edited to add: Wrap up a bit warmer, wear a helmet and then enjoy!!

I have a screen and no wipers (cause I can't be arsed to fit them).

PITA when it rains, you have to drive really fast so the wind blows the water off

In the cold you get ear ache from the buffeting so need to wear a hat that covers your ears. Still much better with a screen, don't need to wear sun glasses when driving at night

Well here's my £0.01!!!!

I loved the car without a screen but at anything over 50mph it got a bit nasty.... Too blowy and cold (unless you wear a closed face helmet but that's a PITA)... I tried going on the motorway and my eyes were streaming that much I could hardly see where I was going (I wear glasses and my glasses-friendly goggles don't fit)...

Fitted the screen and its much better. Can happily go at 90-100 (clutch is slipping above 6k so no chance of discovering anything above that).... It is blustery and side-doors are planned. But it's much nicer...

But you definately need wipers- it was chucking it down the other day and even though I tried not to use them (I had the lights on as well and my alternator output is a bit iffy) I definately needed them. The near vertical nature of the screen means rain doesn't fall off the screen very easily... It was also fogging very slightly- I think some kind of demist is needed even without a roof and side-doors....

Quick Q. (hope this isn't a threadjack)
Can you get SVA'd with aeroscreen and then just fit screen and wipers afterwards?

Even easier- you can pass without any sort of wind protection (ie no aeroscreen even). That's what I did (probably one reason why the ride was so extreme!!!)....

get these if you fit a windscreen. I got them years ago for the Falcon, huge difference.

I wear a crash helmet in my car and it's just fine. A set of goggles would probably do. If you are going to fit a screen then you'll probably need wipers if there is any channce of it raining before you get home or any risk of being pulled over by the police.

Fit one of those parachutes that the "Straightliners" use... that should stop the noise and the draft - due to you not moving!!!

know what you mean; you can get oakley MX goglles that go over glasses - I can dig up ebay link if you want.

short answer, if you are cold, wear more clothing. hats, jacket, gloves etc.. don;t forget socks for your feet.

yeah I use this stuff, only problem is the wipers don't then clear the screen very well and you need quite an air flow over the glass, so an 7's screen is a bit to upright for this to work.

Found some snowboarding goggles in Decathlon (French sport superstore thing). Black, polycarbonate, shatterproof with all the BSs and £13 - I bought two!
