After doing a couple of trackdays and sprints this year it is clear that my car is potentially considerably faster than its driver. Much as I would
love to do a week or two racing driver school I haven't got the cash. Best I can afford is a couple of short sessions at trackdays with whatever
instructor is on hand on the day to give me a list of faults to work on.
Are there any books, DVDs or other resources that anyone can recommend so I can do some homework.
I'm not up for racing, bashing wheels, outbraking into corners etc, just improving my driving for more enjoyable trackdays and helping out my
sprint times.
Don't know if this is too far away for you but it's a really good day out and not too expensive

I've done some coaching days but heavily discounted via the SELOC Lotus forum otherwise I wouldn't have bothered at typical prices. I did
learn a lot and the day was tailored to what I wanted to get from it.
One DVD I know of is by www.carlimits.com who also arrange coaching days which gets reasonably affordable when 4 people book together (they can
arrange the other 3).
There's always the Drift Bible by Tsuchiya which is good if you're in to that

There is a young lad by the name of Tim grey. ( RGB driver) who dose both driver coaching and car hire if you do not fancy using your own car. He has
a Honda accord ( BTCC style ) And an Aries Mazda powered car.

also there is a very good book out, its published by haynes (our saviors) its called 'the track day manual' and there be lots of useful info
in it, on lines, good dvds to have a look at, how to get the best out of your car etc, the first couple of chapters will not be much use to you
however (i imagine) as they are about what to expect at a track day-you already know cos youve been! but the majority of the book will be very useful

Thanks all. Good stuff there. Harewood I have thought about in the past but the furthest I have gone in the seven is 300 to Barkston after which I do need a lie down. Even Castle Coombe for the day is 360 plus whatever miles I get in on track and it's not the ideal seven circuit. Haynes will be on the Christmas list. Pain in the ass living in Plymouth if you want to drive.
