RGB arrive and drive
Andy B - 19/10/10 at 06:01 PM

Just guaging interest really, we are considering putting out a Class F 919cc race car as an arrive and drive next season, ideally aimed at those who fancy trying racing before committing fully, package details yet to be confirmed but it would be along the lines of - the idividual registers for the championship and sorts entries and we supply, maintain and run the car on the day.
Anyone think this might work for them?
regards
Andy

Sounds like a good idea, but I would imagine it would be a bit on the pricey side. You would have to have a race license yourself to take part I assume?

who would be liable for damage if you had a serious off?

Cheers

Scott

I think your asking the wrong forum...the majority on here skrimp to build our own as its the cheapest option.

What about asking on pistonheads/caterham/westfield etc forums?

I wouldn't say its completely the wrong place to ask - there are a lot of non-locostbuilders on here, existing RGR racers etc.

Guess the question on a lot of people lips is how much per race?

and ensuring the damage is covered is usually a problem!?

there are those of us that this might appeal too !!

will buzz you Mr Bates........

I'd be interested - looks like my car will never be race ready so this is a good option for me.

What sort of commitment would you be looking at? Not sure I'd be able to commit to a full season but would certainly be able to do 5 - 6 race weekends.

Hi
Yep just checked this is the RACING section of the forum. Perfect place to ask such a question i would have thought given theres quite a few race drivers who read this section.

Cheers Matt

I'd have done this in 2010 had the option been there.

Hopefully in due course I won't have to.

Those with reasonable arrive and drive rates seem to do ok. The thing about 750MC is that compared to doing an arrive and drive in, say, Ginettas or whatever it will usually present very good value. I would think that you'll be ok Andy.

A perfectly sensible place to ask IMHO!

I couldn't afford the logistics that surround a full seasons competition (travelling from Sconny Botland), but could well be tempted by the occasional foray...

many thanks for the comments, I will be finalising the details this week and will post up full costings asap. Mr Crawford give me a bell when you get a mo - i have an idea!
Thanks once again
Andy
