There are some cheap cars around to get people started too. Obviously, buying a lemon isn't a good idea, but when you can pick up a car for the price of a rebuilt motor and drivetrain...

Just for info the car that is second on the list above Nice wheels Ł3800. Has been sold by the owner. Hopefully that will save him some time answering the phone.
