ali f27 - 31/5/13 at 09:03 PM

Hi just thought i would test the water not trying to be arsey but i have entered wigton motor club campionship and find there is no class at barbon i have a 2.0 litre road going 7 with aeroscreen it says in the msa book screens are free but when you look at the regs class 2b screens are required so i would have to run in the modified class which would be against cars on slicks if i run on slicks i would be a race car also as a race car i would need other mods same applys for harewood so looks like i have no class to run in
Confused ALI
Would be please if LMC member could explain

can you not run in modified specialist production class? and run slicks?

Hi Ali

You've not read the regs right..

A road going specialist production car - with no windscreen - is class 2D irrespective of engine size.
(Class 2D was created this year to cater for exactly your sort of prediciment)

You'll probably find that on the day all the class 2 runners will be amalgamated anyway

Get yourself entered

Basicly no Daniel if you run slicks you are a race car and different rules apply its all about who should win its a great form of motosport spoiled by a few induviduls how many severns are bulit with screens now are you doing barbon i will might have to run agianst 5.0 tvr but sounds about right for 2.0 severn with aeroscreen will be be good look forward to having a crack with you
Cheers Ali

Jim sent me a message about 2D and just about getting the car ready for the class, plan to try a sprint and hill climb for fun.

Took the car to a licenced technical official in my area, Chris Mansley for the once over, have had to change a few things but now just about ready.
