I,ve done three sprints in my little car, entering as sports libre, however I am wondering if this is correct
It tends to be a lonely class, with a 918 turbo engine I,m wondering if I should go as a modified limited production
Category C. Modified Limited Production Cars (S.10.10.3) and Modified Specialist production Cars (S 10.10.4)
Class 9 Up to 1400cc
Class 10 Over 1400cc to 2000cc
Class 11 Over 2000cc
Category D. Sports Libre Cars (S.10.10.6)
Class 12 Up to 1800cc
Class 13 Over 1800cc
On the basis that the car is based upon a limited production chassis, Stuart Taylor et al then this should be correct?
Category C. Modified Limited Production Cars & Modified Specialist Production Cars.
Cars must comply with regulations S. 12.1 to 12.9.2
Which will then make me class 9
So what class do you run in, no reverse excludes me from a road going class.

C10 I think Mark, A8 if you where fully road legal (I'd try A8 and see if anyone complains, never seen reverse checked.) A8 is the class

With turbo brings me out at 1,285cc so I am thinking class 9?
BECs are always in the class above.

2. ‘Standard Cars’ (Appendix 2) from 1601cc to 2000cc – 2wd only, list 1A tyres only
3. Up to 1400cc – 2wd, list 1a or 1b tyres
4. 1401 to 2000cc – 2wd, list 1a or 1b tyres
5. 2001cc and over – 2wd, list 1a or 1b tyres
6. 4 wheel drive cars of all capacities, list 1a or 1b tyres

7. Up to 1700cc, list 1a or 1b tyres

So you are either in A8 or C13 with these regs.
Jeez, not even the same classes then between clubs....
FDMC sports libre up to 1,800cc debnen up to 1,100cc
I,m running slicks, although do have class 1b tyres as well, however my preference is to score overall as 4th at the weekend behind Simon (dopdog) by
0.2 second both giving way to a well sorted Westfield driven by race instructors.
It just seems a shame to be in a class of 1
CatB class 9 is still looking good, but with FDMC
So do you think I am okay as modified production or will have to stay sports libre

it is only the FDMC that let me run in mod prod class 9. all other events I end up in sport libre but you would be with me in C13 as with the turbo
you end up with 1200cc. there is always some interesting stuff out there.
forgot to add mod prod sometimes don't let space frames in so again we are out.
Wouldn't you think one set of regs should be used? It's crazy how all these regs change depending on where you are.little libre and race cars seem to van self explanatory and that's where I'll stay!

It then needs tax, mot and insurance
And then when you start doing well the "excludes bike engines" creeps in.
When this engine goes bang I will seriously consider moving the turbo over to a nice light sigma or similar and drag it all towards the passenger seat

Without getting too into the Blue Book, is anything without reverse going to fall into Sport Lbre even if it is road legal at the time?
Not got the blue book on me at moment but you can run slicks in modified specialist production so doesn't need to be road legal. But as for
reverse,I wouldn't know for sue without looking at the book.

So if a Locost can qualify as a " Modified Specialist Production" then I am okay to move away from sports libre
There are regs on what complies with modified specialist in terms of chassis numbers and engine blocks I think
Yes, it says over 20 chassis produced in a year. Not sure how a locost fits in there.
Also states over 1000 engines produced and fitted to a land vehicle, but my interpretation is that they can be from any source - so a blade engine
should qualify.
Except for the regs that say no BEC in mod prod.
