Im going to be racing in 04, I need to replace my hand made huge steel tank with one for racing, could anyone tell me what capacity would be best for a full season of racing, cheers?

My race on sunday was ruined by fuel starvation problems caused by fuel sloshing around in the tank under sustained cornering & elevation changes. (Went from 9th to 24th!)
What i'm going to try to do now is put baffles at the bottom of the tank to make sure there's always some fuel near to the intake pipe.

Don't know for sure about capacity as i've only raced at Donington so far. I was using about 12 litres during a 10 lap race there but a lot of it was flat-out and it'll be different for twistier tracks

You won't need one tank for a full seasons racing - you're allowed to fill up between races:-)

What you want to do a calculate (guess)the absolute worst mpg you'll get, find out about race length, and figure out you tank capacity.

I'd have thought 2 - 3 gallons would be ok. Perhaps you could go to a race meeting and ask them.

Cheers mate I just wanted a guide, Im going to anoy lots of drivers with questions in Brans hatch, unless there scared im going to beat them, (not bloody likely the top runners have very nice machines they must all be pimps and gangstas to afford them).
