13" Slick tyres
TRR Motorsport - 19/1/07 at 01:50 PM

Hi forum,

A forum member called Gary (Hi Gary) who bought a set of tyres from us last week said I should post a thread on here regarding our slick tyres.

We stock large quantities of 13" slicks and sell to a lot of Locost, Westfield & Seven owners who trackday and compete.

Please feel free to have a look at the website and please feel free to contact me to discuss any technical matters.

James

Hi

Yup - I also had a set off you a few weeks back. Should be good to get the car run-in and charging around my local circuit!

Having said that, can you explain why the Michelins are more suitable than the Kumhos? I've bought the Michelins but the bigger sidewall of the Kumhos would have helped my gear ratio/speed.

How wide is your wheel?
I have 5,5 and I also go for the 180 wide ones?

Yes tim

The Kumho Euro F3tyres have a very stiff sidewall (like a traditional crossply racing tyre) and would require a completely different suspension set up on the car. Fine if it only does track work but not too clever if you fit the Kumho F3 tyres to a road set up!!!

The Michelins are soft sidewalled Radials and react much the same as your road tyres (but with more grip)

I wouldn't mind a set of 15" slicks but I can't seem to find any part worns and I don't want to shell out on a new set for a couple of trackdays a year.

Sorry if Ive missed it on the website but what's the shipping costs, say for a set of 4 tyres?
