Good afternoon

After some help, I'm at the stage now where I am starting to test fit the engine, gearbox and diff to make all the brackets.

Does anyone have any pictures/drawings of the front mounting bracket for the mx5 diff. I'm sure the Saturn plans use one of the mx5 engine rubber mounts for the bracket, however i can remember reading a build diary of someone who uses a land rover rubber and it sheered off.

Any help is appreciated

Haha, that was me.
Whatever you do, don't use a landrover mount in shear, it'll (quite predictably) shear off

Here's my second attempt for what it's worth:

I replaced the rubber mounts in the arms with solid ali mounts:




And remade my front mount, sans landrover rubbers:








I'm not suggesting anyone else does it like this as I clearly haven't got a clue what I'm doing

It's worth having a look through the locost usa forum for ideas, as the miata's quite a popular donor over there and there's been a lot of discussion on how to mount the diff.

Keith Tanner's build has a nice design for the nose, Phil has also drawn a simple diagram. My one is a little more complicated but is sort of similar to Skov's.

Yes thats the exact one i was looking at haha. I think ill learn from your missfortunes. Ill take that photo and try make something Like that. Did you make the solid ali arm mounts yourself?

And ill have a look through the usa site to see if i can find anything.
