I'm currently running 185/55/14 allround but would like to fit slightly wider to rear, would 195 be ok for my rim width, any suggestions ? thanks

I run 195/45R14 Toyo Proxes on my 6x14 rims

the toyo website will tell you what size rims you can use for its tyres.

195 are about the limit, I have 185 on my 6x14 and 205x13 on some 6x13's they are a bit wide for the rims so when they wear out it's 195's
