Interior lights !

I have allways found map reading at night a bit of a task.............since there is no interior light in my Fury.............untill now
I bought some LED's off ebay recently , planning on making a light for my pushbike speedo , and got a decent price on 10 .
So - what to do with the spares ? Hang on - how a about locost `interior' light - for a convertable ?
I drilled 5 holes in the roll bar (yes , I know I have weakened it , but then I drove it for 4 years without one !) , then cut a narrow slot in the reverse to feed the lights in through .
After soldering wires onto the LED's they were araldited in .

Roll bar lights
Roll bar lights

Then connected together , and a wire run down inside the roll bar , under the trim at the side , to a switch on the dash - and voila

Lights 3
Lights 3

Thet are angled down to point just below the dash , and light the inside of the car very well - so a result

but what about those sticky flexi led strips you get?

I did a similar thing for a high line break light. High intensity red ledd in the cross tube of my roll bar.
