Sierra Indicator Stalk
david_hornet27 - 24/7/16 at 05:39 PM

Hi All. Any ideas where I can get a Ford Sierra indicator stalk? There are 2 on ebay right now but just wondered if anyone had any suggestion where else I might find one. Thanks in advance.

There are at least 2 if not more versions of the Sierra indicator switch which are wired differently, check the part number and do a search on here . If yours is faulty try a good squirt of electrical contact cleaner or WD40 , problems are often caused by the switch getting damp. Guess how I know ?

Thanks for the advice. The hazard switch has lunched itself due to being brittle and they wont turn off. I can't see an easy long term fix for it apart from wiring in a switch for the hazards on the dash. I'd prefer to replace the faulty unit really.

I thought mine was FUBARED , a squirt sorted it , it's been fine for 3 years.

It flew off when I turned the hazards on. Got all the parts back but the plastic part that is the on off mechanism is smashed and too brittle to superglue. The part number 83bg13b302aa seems to be rarer than hens teeth! I've found one in the USA so far!

Was it the square or round hazard button?

It's the square one. Still looking as the ones on ebay are the wrong type.

The square one is from the early sierra's - the 82 to 86 one

Unfortunately they were getting harder to find even 10 years ago
(my dax wiring loom is made for these ones)

fortunately you can use the newer type, but you need to adapt the wiring a little and run relays if you don't have them already
(the newer switches were meant to be used in a switched earth system and might not last as long without a relay)

Thanks for that mcerd1

The donor was an 86 Sierra so I guess I will be looking for something to modify. It's only the on/off mechanism that's cracked and broken so maybe I can find a way of transplanting it from a newer unit into my existing one.

Hi
I might have one but it is for the 92b car, I do have 2 suggestion for you try :

1) Stick a bit of card board behind the flasher button that might cure it as I had the same problem
2) try http://www.kitspares.co.uk/
