been looking at a mates diesel 306, he's got one of those pneumatic rams like you get on boots doors etc, on the throttle of his car.
not sure on the actual setting up involved, but could be an interesting solution to the throttle return issues?
perhaps the throttle close cable goes off to the ram? don't know exactly, and maybe more work than just fitting extra springs, but could make a
neat looking set up?
arn't they quite slow to return stuff...
If you know what I mean...?
they might well be, but i know in some cases bike carbs don't return at all, i'd see it as more of a backup maybe?
they are rock hard to push down too!
his one was pushing at about 45 degrees, so i guess that takes some of the force out. don't know, was just an idea which might help if some are a bit stuck on how to fit springs etc
If its already working on something then I guess it could work for someone stuck for an idea!
Didn't mean to "diss" your idea mate
ah not at all its good to hear peoples concerns, might make me thing about something i'd overlooked, but yeah, its been on his 306 since it was built, not sure if it being a diesel makes any difference, but it seemed an interesting idea for anyone struggling to fit extra springs etc.
May not be as good an idea as you think
mate. A lot of the 306guys at the time my self included remove them to improve throttle response. But if you can make it do what you want good luck
What wrong with the old spring on the pedal technique. Over engineering is sometimes the problem itself

They are a throttle damper - nothng more, nothing less. Definately NOT a return spring...
