Right!
zx9r, fireblade or 2.0zetec engine? i really cant decide! Any help would be great!
cheers
Dave
I'd say R1 but only because thats what I used. Go with a BEC though unless you just want a car you can bumble about in.
(...gets popcorn and hides)
adrian
x2 the the r1
x3 for R1
Zetec
Duratec!
Depends on the intended usage & budget to a large degree.
whats the difference between zetec and duratec? will probably just use it on the road but maybe a track day here n there. budget was around £6500 but will no doubt end up being more!

Yes, it's horses for courses in my eyes too. My car has an R1 and is destined for the track but I'd also like a car-engined-car with
weather gear for the road. That won't happen, but I personally don't like a BEC on the road. It's too noisy and too fast for someone
with a lead foot and an unhealthy amount of points for speeding.
If you're more restrained than me and don't want to go to Le Mans or the Ring in it then it might work for you.
Sounds like you need to ask around to see if there are people in your area with a BEC and CEC who are willing to take you for a run out so you can
decide between them. As above you really need to narrow down what you intend to use the car for as well. Simply saying road use isnt narrowing it down
enough really. If you want to do longer trips then probably a car engine would be better but if its just going to be hour blasts then a BEC might be
perfect. I made the mistake with my first car thinking it'd be more longer trips when mostly it was used for an hour thrash around N Wales.
If BEC then R1 again, or if the budget is a little bigger (and it might not have to be much bigger) then ZX10R

If you want to come in under or near your £6500 budget then it's going to be FireBlade...
Or add a grand onto that number for something a little bit faster.
Steve
Or how about a near finished mk with 2003 r1, i know a man with one, no time to finish it cos spends more time playing with the one hes already built

You can build a 200+hp vauxhall XE engined car easily for less than £6500, mine cost around £5500, and it is also quicker than fireblade, zx9r or R1 BEC
